We firmly believe that by developing young people through our apprenticeship scheme it provides the company with a solid foundation of core skills and a work force that has good product knowledge. Also, it provides us with home grown talent that helps to contribute to providing a sustainable future, not only for the Company but for the individuals.
The apprenticeship training is monitored throughout the four year scheme by our dedicated Apprentice Training Manager, making sure that all expectations are being met by the apprentices and by everyone involved with the development of our young people. The first 10 months will be off the job training at our training provider centres learning and developing valuable skills to transfer to the work place. On return to Fort Vale further development will take place within our dedicated training areas, then moving on to the state of the art machine tool technology. Throughout the process apprentices will work closely with selected experienced engineers to gain invaluable knowledge and skills.
The Fort Vale philosophy is to produce well educated 'Home Grown' talent and our aim is to provide the company with skilled, flexible engineers that are educated to HNC (or equivalent) as a minimum expectation, with prospects to progress through the company as opportunities arise.
